ASLAP Veterinary Student Travel Award
The ASLAP Veterinary Student Liaison Committee (VSLC) is seeking nominations
of veterinary students for the ASLAP Veterinary Student Travel Award Program.
The VSLC, with approval of the Board of Directors, is proud to support the Veterinary
Student Travel Award Program in order that up to 5 awards may be given this year for
travel to the 2008 AALAS National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, November 9-13,
2008.
The Veterinary Student Travel Award Program is intended to increase awareness of the
practice of laboratory animal medicine by assisting students who have demonstrated an
interest in the field to attend the annual AALAS national meeting. Each award will
consist of up to $1500 towards registration, travel, meals and accommodations to attend
the AALAS national meeting.
Applications received by March 1, 2008 will receive priority consideration. No
nominations will be accepted after June 1, 2008.
Nomination package must include:
• Contact information
• Current CV
• Essay of up to 500 words describing their interest in laboratory animal
medicine , participation in activities related to laboratory animal medicine,
as well as their career goals
• Letter of support from either their ASLAP liaison or student ASLAP
chapter faculty advisor
• An estimate of expenses
Student ASLAP members are encouraged to self-nominate for this award.
Nominations will be evaluated by the Veterinary Student Liaison Committee. The award
is open to any member of an ASLAP student chapter in good standing from a college or
school of veterinary medicine in North America or the Caribbean.

darlene@aslap.org. Again, all nominations must be received by March 1, 2008 for
priority consideration and no nominations will be accepted after June 1, 2008.
ASLAP Members
Please support and encourage an ASLAP student chapter member you know who is
interested in laboratory animal medicine by asking him/her to nominate him/herself for
this award. ASLAP encourages students and ASLAP liaisons/club advisors to explore all
opportunities for scholarship travel support at their institution prior to applying for this
award.
